We have a 44 pound limit including our carry on. It makes one think about the essentials only. A month long vacation with only three pair of shoes??? Is that possible? I have been hanging clothes and laying out items for a month so today I organized it all and park it all for the two of us. No problem meeting the total weight requirements. We each have 3 pounds to spare.

We will have to be resourceful with what we take. The electronics weigh a bit in themselves. The IPhones, backup batteries, the IPads for blogging, movies and games. The external drive for some movies and storing the millions of photos we intend to take, Troys good camera, binoculars, the go pro, and stand for it, all the cords, electric adaptors, blue tooth head phones, headlamps and flashlights.

I felt pretty good about the close we planned. All super light weigh but great at keeping the body warm. Quick dry, Uv protection and bug resilient. I event managed to pack some Arizona sports team hats and shirts to leave behind. As I have heard the village people love anything from America.

Since I have lost my bag on trips in the past I packed have of my clothes and half of Troys clothes in each bag. If we loose one we will till have clothes, shoes and toiletries. Our carry ones have the first aid stuff, the meds, the money and the electronics. Well most of them.

We are ready to go. We will pop one more malaria pill before we go to sleep, order the Uber for 4am, make sure the house is buttoned up and be off for our trip tomarrow.

3 hours to Seattle, 10 to Amsterdam and 10 to Johannesburg. We get in at 9pm on Saturday. I will be back to let you know how all of that goes. I’m glad you along for the journey,
