Up and out at 5:30. Breakfast, pay our bill say goodbye then into the jeeps to the landing strip. A very cold bumpy road.
I’m currently sitting in the cockpit of a twin engine King Air E90 jet. The flight is 1.5 hours

The Pilot is a woman. She is French and not very friendly. I do admire the way she is handling this small plane though.
We landed safely and then boarded a bus to
The Botswana border.
On the way we stopped at a local market for a quick walk through.
It was certainly a highlight for me.

At the Zambia border I bought some beautiful rosewood carvings out the bus window. We were instructed not to get out of the bus.
Once we did we shuffled to a small boat and crossed the Zambezi river we were now in Botswana.
I was taken back by the amount of stuff the women carried on their backs and heads. Talk about survival for the fittest.
We got on another bus and headed to our next camp. Jackel berry Camp.
Our room is lovely over looking the Chobe river. King bed, bath tub, shower. It is not a private Tented Camp for OAT. So their are other guest staying here as well. The tents are up on stilts. You can walk safely to your room without an escort. It has the feel of a treehouse.

We’re off on our drive to Choebe National Park
What a beautiful park. As you come down the
Hill and gaze upon the choby river and the Sedudu island between Namibia and Botswana full of animals grazing on the marshy grasses.
Elephants, giraffes, hippos, impalas, pukas, kudos, And so many birds. The guide gets a call and we head off in quest of a pack of Wild African dogs. When we came upon them they were sprawled out in the sand with full bellies.

We went for our sundowner and came back to the dogs. They are now up and ready to hunt.
Back to camp for dinner. We had 30 minutes so I took a shower and for the first time in 8 days blow dried my hair.
Dinner was just ok. But this beautiful room overlooking the Choeby river will certainly make up for it.
Tomarrow will be our 20th game drive. I cannot begin to count all the animals we have seen. I for one could never tire of all the animals. Not so sure about Troy. He was very happy to get internet service today. I think this trip is very fast passed with no down time. He’s not used to that. Knock on wood no accidents this far. He is such a good sport everyone likes him in the group.
